Our story
My first job search sucked.
My first job search sucked. Despite working my ass off to pass all my classes and learn skills, I kept getting rejected. Why?
Well, my roommate told me: “Rod you have to play the game”. He taught me how the skills you learn for a job are completely different from the skills you need to get a job.
Problem
I saw hard-working people go through the same thing I did.
I figured out the formula and got hired shortly after.
15 months later, I started teaching Data Science and Career Coaching at a bootcamp. I saw hard-working people go through the same thing I did. Struggling to get hired despite being super talented.
Solution
Piece by piece, we built a platform that works for the average person - not just those with an Uncle Bob.
That led me to start the 1st version of Prentus when COVID happened. I tested a bunch of business models while running a community and mentoring 100s along the way. But millions of people need a better pathway to their dream job. I had to build something scalable.
For two years, I worked on building the Prentus platform hand in hand with jobseekers and the institutions educating them. Piece by piece, we built a platform that works for the average person - not just those with an Uncle Bob.

Prentus has helped 12,000+ people in their job search from over 900 schools.

My goal is to completely change how job searching is done. That includes learners, schools, and employers working in a new, merit-based system.
Still a long way to go - but I’ll keep going until we build a job search that is fair, fast, and fun.

We recognize that this is a fragmented ecosystem and aim to provide an all-in-one, integrated solution that connects everyone in the process. We are excited by the prospect of our users changing their lives to set themselves up for a better future than generations past.
