Career Points keep students engaged — and applying.

Every meaningful action earns Career Points: applications submitted, mock interviews taken, events attended, posts shared in the community. Leaderboards turn it into healthy competition across cohorts and programs. Advisors see who's investing in their career — and who needs a nudge.

Career Points awarded for student actions

Points System

Points for what actually matters.

Career Points reward outcome-driving actions, not vanity logins. Students earn points for submitting applications, completing voice-based mock interviews, attending career events, posting wins or asking questions in the community, getting a resume reviewed by an advisor, and hitting personal career milestones. Point values are configurable per institution — weight the actions that matter most to your program.

Leaderboards

Healthy competition, structured by cohort.

Leaderboards run by cohort, by program, by campus, or institution-wide. Refresh continuously so students can watch their rank move in real time. Optional first-name-only display protects privacy. Weekly point summaries land in each student's profile so they can see their own trajectory even when they're not on the public board.

Advisor dashboard showing student engagement

Advisor View

See who's active. See who's stalled.

Career Points double as the engagement signal advisors have always wanted but never had. The advisor dashboard surfaces students who haven't earned points in 7, 14, or 30 days — the early-warning system for students drifting off-track. Advisors can trigger an automated nudge or schedule a 1:1 with one click.

Frequently Asked Questions

What actions earn Career Points?
Application submissions, mock interview completions, event attendance, community posts and replies, resume reviews, profile updates, networking outreach, and any institution-configured custom action. Point values are configurable per institution.
How are leaderboards structured?
By cohort, by program, by campus, or institution-wide. Optional first-name-only display protects student privacy. Career services teams can also turn leaderboards off entirely if a culture-of-competition isn't the right fit for the population.
Can institutions customize the points system?
Yes. Every action's point value is configurable. Schools weight the actions that matter most to their program — some weight applications heavily, others lean into community engagement. Custom actions can also be added (e.g., complete a specific employer's challenge).
Do students see each other’s points?
On leaderboards, yes — but only first names by default. Individual profile pages show each student's own point totals and streak history. Students can opt out of public leaderboards if they prefer.
How does Career Points tie into outcomes?
Points correlate with placement. Students who actively earn points are 3x more likely to engage with career services and report higher day-30 retention. The advisor dashboard surfaces low-point students as the early-warning system for students drifting toward poor outcomes.
Is gamification opt-out for students who prefer not to participate?
Yes. Students can opt out of public leaderboards while still earning Career Points privately for their own tracking. Institutions can also disable the gamification layer entirely if needed.
